Manganese Ore, Coke and Power being the major inputs for production of Manganese alloys, the group has planned for backward integration to attaining self sufficiency at least to the extent of 30% to 40% of its overall requirement with respect to Manganese ore, Coke and Power.
The company has developed long term relation ship with Asia Minerals (Hong Kong), Eramet for supply of Manganese ores for the requirement of these company to supply its entire production for the period of 10 years.
The Company is also negotiating for entering into agreement with mining companies in South Africa and an Indian mining company, for its new project at Peddapuram, near Kakinada(A.P.),for tie up for Manganese ores with buy back of ferro alloys and expecting to finalise the same in the year 2014-15.
The new project at Peddapuram,a Kakinada port based Captive power plant and ferro alloys has been commissioned in the year 2013-14 & 2014-15.
The project is having a Captive power plant 3 unit of 36 mw each overall power generation capacity of 108 MW and a Ferro alloy 6 furnaces each of 9.00 MVA overall ferro alloy Capacity of 54 MVA.
The captive power plant is planned to meet the requirement of Ferro alloy capacity in peddapuram as well as the groups ferro alloy capacity at Deccan Ferro Alloys private limited (Vishakapatnam).
With this additional ferro alloy capacity the group total ferro alloy capacity will be about 2,70,000 MTPA.
It Is Proposed To Increase Power Plant Capacity To 144 Mw With Additional One 36.00 Mw Unit And Ferro Alloy Capacity To 81 Mva With Additional Three Furnace Of 9.00 Mva Each During The Year 2015-16
