Manganese
Ore, Coke and Power being the major inputs for
production of Manganese alloys, the group has
planned for backward integration to attaining
self sufficiency at least to the extent of 30%
of its overall requirement with respect to Manganese
ore, Coke and Power. |

The company
has also entered into MOA with a mining company
in Indonesia, where in the mining company is committed
to supply its entire production for the period
of 10 years. |

The company
is also negotiating for entering into agreements
with mining companies in South Africa and an Indian
mining company, for its new project at Kakinada
(A.P.), for tie up for Manganese ores with buy
back of ferro alloys and expecting to finalise
the same in the year 2010-2011. |

The land
at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh was acquired &
the Power Company is being started as SHRI GIRIJA
ALLOY & POWER (I) PRIVATE LTD. The company
is planning to set up 99MW capacities thermal
based power and 45MW gas based plant at Kakinada
with a FERRO ALLOY CAPACITY of about 50.40MVA, having
6 Furnaces of Ferro Alloys. The power plant will
also be planned to meet the entire power requirement
of M/s Shri Girija Smelters Ltd. & M/s Deccan
Ferro Alloys Pvt. Ltd., Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. |

The project is contemplated to commence the
project work during 2010-11, and will be completed
in phases during 2011-12 & 2012-13.
With this additional Ferro Alloy capacity, the
group's total ferro alloy capacity will be about
2,07,000 MTPA.
The Kakinada project is planned to have 6 furnaces (5
furnaces of 9.00 MVA and 1 furnace of 5.40 MVA)
